HARTS, The Hartford Argentine Tango Society, organizes lessons, workshop series, Practicas and monthly milongas in the Greater Hartford Area, at the Celebrations Unlimited Dance Hall in Plainville, CT. Practicas are held weekly every Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Beginner lessons are being taught by Judy Phelps the First and Third Monday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.  Judy will also guide HARTS practicas on these dates.

Judy Phelps

Judith Phelps trained and performed as a modern dancer before starting to study Argentine Tango.  She has studied with a number of respected teachers in New York and Buenos Aires including Daniel Trenner, Rebecca Schulman, Brigitta Winkler, Erik Jeurissen, Carlos Gavito and Luciana Valle. She currently teaches tango classes at Yale University, Ballroom experience studio and private classes.  Her emphasis is on clear communication between the leader and the follower to create elegant and smooth dancing on the dance floor that is both passionate and fun.
