Kana Kubota

Kana KubotaKana is the founder & director of Jonan Music & Dance School in Fukuoka, Japan. Originally from Japan,  Kana came to NYC to continue her graduate studies in music. She received her Master's Degree in Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Kana's love and passion for music and dance took her to
training in musical theater, tap dancing, ballet, and ballroom dancing. She was trained in ballroom by top level competitors and champions, including Sandra Cameron, Bill Davis, Jonathan Wilkins, Steven Dougherty, Clive Philips, and the remarkable choreographer Peter DiFalco. After competing in Ballroom for years, Kana Kubota fell in love with Argentine Tango. Following Daniel Trenner's teachers training, she went to Buenos Aires and attended professional seminars with Osvaldo Zotto & Lorena Ermocida. Kana continued intensive studies in NYC with Diego DiFalco & Carolina Zokalski. She also studied with legendary Carlos Gavito. Many tango masters influenced and inspired Kana's dancing and teaching deeply; Nito & Elba, Fernanda Ghi & Guillermo Merlo, Gustavo Naveira & Giselle Anne, Fabian Salas & Carolina del Rivero, Alex Krebs, Lucianna Valle, Julio Balmaceda y Corina de la Rosa, Antonio Cervila Junior and Pabro Veron.
